GoPro is getting into content production...which begs the question: Forward Integration? Or Business Model Evolution? Or a bit of both? While not a stretch from its core competence, GoPro's move enters the company into a competitive landscape, from independent movie production houses to the ESPNs of the world. It's an interesting turnaround initiative, and one that mirrors some of Apple's strategic moves in 1997 as it entered the music space with the iPod and iTunes.
